Although surgical practices abroad are often referred to as "clinics," we are not a clinic (as stated in many of our posts) but a medical practice. Therefore, whenever the word "clinic" appears in this blog's posts, it is a typographical error resulting solely from a lack of awareness. Following a notification from the Medical Association of Rhodes, we would like to correct this.
P.S.
Some people exhaust themselves playing with words and concepts, aiming to harm others whom they cannot surpass—simply because those individuals are to good.
We focus on our own happiness, quality, and progress... and that is precisely what sets us apart.

I tried translating it, but I can't figure out what the difference is. In any case, what matters is you, Dr. Socrates. I realize that some people are trying to put you in a tight spot. Just call your practice "Dr. Socrates"—that’s enough. We are always with you.

Some people on the island seem to favor other doctors, and that isn't fair. I remember staying at a large hotel in Karpathos when I started vomiting; this had been going on since the previous night. I called reception and asked them to send Dr. Socrates to examine me, as friends of mine had told me how pleased they were with him when they had been ill. Reception told me they didn't work with Dr. Socrates and that they would send someone else instead. I insisted for a while, but my condition was very bad, so I agreed to let another doctor come. The doctor arrived and examined me; he said I had eaten something that didn't agree with me. He prescribed some pills for nausea, which was completely absurd given that I was immediately throwing up anything I put in my mouth. I had a terrible night. The next morning, my wife and I took a taxi to Dr. Socrates' clinic. As soon as the doctor saw me, he was very concerned and kept me at the clinic for quite some time until I recovered. I confided in Dr. Socrates about what had happened at the hotel the previous night; he shook my hand, smiled, and simply said it didn't matter, since I was there now. A truly great doctor. Thank you, Dr. Socrates. When I returned to the hotel, I told them I had seen Socrates and that they should have sent me to him the night before, but they didn't know what to say.
ΔιαγραφήDr. Socrates is a walking advertisement all on his own. He needs no signs. He is such a distinctive figure that, even if you don't know him, you find yourself asking the people around you who that amazing guy is. He is one of a kind.
ΔιαγραφήHenry is my name.
ΑπάντησηΔιαγραφήI had the exact same experience on the island. Even before I went on vacation, friends had told me that if I had any health issues, I should visit or call Dr. Socrates. I fell ill while on holiday and asked the receptionist to call a taxi to take me to Dr. Socrates' clinic. Instead, the taxi took me to a different doctor's practice. At first, I didn't realize it, but something didn't seem right about the whole situation. I walked into the office and asked a gentleman inside if he was Dr. Socrates, but he told me he was a different doctor. He said it didn't matter that I had come there, as the care would be the same. However, I found the situation unacceptable and appalling; I left that practice, asked some locals for directions, and found the wonderful Dr. Socrates. He treated me with such humanity and efficiency that I will never forget him!
Which "Hippocrates"
ΑπάντησηΔιαγραφήWhich "Quick Med"
Which "Clinic" or "Center"... that's bullshit,
we know Socrates as Doctor Socrates and Express Doctor, with his nice car, his quick response (quicker than the speed of light) and his kindness.
Keep doing what you're doing, Doctor... when we think of Karpathos, you're high on the list... a real landmark.
And you're an amazing drummer, too... fantastic style.
Only you Doctor... King of Medicine!!!
